Introduction
Less than one week after her divorce, Juliana’s dream of working at Microsoft is realized, even if it is a temporary position through a technical service agency. She becomes very focused, allowing both Ann and Lina to be in love with her, each of the women refusing to give up. Howard and his partner Glen, and Lina and her teenage son Willard, spend a wonderful family Christmas with Juliana, Ashley, and Adam.
Ann continues to spend weekends with Juliana, trying very hard to avoid conflicts with Ashley. Ann becomes very close to Adam, allies with each other in their frustrations with Ashley. Ashley continues to live a very intense life, focused on her friends from high school. Adam hides a lot of his real feelings as they seem too difficult for him to deal with, but Juliana fears his depression may lead to suicidal feelings. Despite this, Adam graduates from high school with high honors, and receives a half-time scholarship to DeVry Institute, where Denny has been enrolled.
Juliana spends months continuing to deal with personal business from the divorce settlement, which Denny does everything in his power to block, and with continuing and increasingly more serious car repair problems. At last, they sell the San Marcos rental house just days before Juliana’s car is totaled in a hailstorm and has become impossible to repair, anyway. Juliana has no choice but to look for a new car.

The Back Cover
I was excited to take Lina to visit Microsoft, to watch me while I worked on the phones as a trained Service Engineer. I was especially proud to point out my nameplate that read, “Juliana Davidson.”
During my first break, I took Lina to visit Troy. They both had sent messages to each other on KinNet, but this would be their first meeting in person.
“So you’re LinaDMP,” Troy grinned. “It’s nice to have you visit Julie here today.”
Troy and Lina “talked shop” for a few moments, but I had to get back to the phones.
“Good morning, this is Microsoft, and my name is Juliana Davidson. How may I help you today?” I never tired of saying that!
