Friday, July 1
Linda’s current project is maintaining a spreadsheet of her food and drink consumption.
Saturday, July 2
Lisa, Aaron, and Alex came over. Aaron “fixed” the water problem under the sink. Linda got dressed and came out to the family room.
Sunday, July 3
Linda and I mopped the kitchen floor, front entryway, and guest bathroom floor today. She replaced the dirty pad with a clean (new) one and filled the tank of the steamer with bottled water, so all I had to do was sweep and then run the steamer over the floors. She also figured out how to wind the 50-ft oxygen tubing onto a holder that will unwind and rewind.
She also did more research and found a source that said coffee is okay for COPD. So I will need to make a fresh pot of coffee in the morning. I have to measure out exactly 6 oz. of coffee then add 2 T. of heavy cream and 1 T. of maple syrup. Tonight she had Rao’s cream tomato soup and 1 slice of (frozen) garlic toast (toasted in the skillet). I just had the tomato soup and cottage cheese with sugar-free gelatin (yes, I know, sucralose and cow/pig parts).
Monday, July 4
Linda put on a dress and came out to the family room with her walker, experimenting with a way to attach the tubing holder to the side or front of the walker.
Thursday, July 7
A home health nurse named Beverly came to visit Linda today.
Saturday, July 9
Today Linda (and I) sat through a 3-hour Kinship board meeting on Zoom.
Wednesday, July 13
Beverly, the home health nurse, came by and got Linda’s blood to take to the lab.
Thursday, July 14
Today Dana, occupational therapist, came over to assess Linda’s status. Linda put the back on the drafting chair and put new wheels on it, so it’s another place she can sit in the living room or dining room.
Thursday, July 21
Physical therapist, David, came to visit Linda. He took her down the back steps to the carport and then had her walk back UP the steps!
Tuesday, July 26
Today was the first time since Linda came home from the hospital on May 30 that she has been out of the house! I plugged in her scooter to charge yesterday, so she was able to ride the scooter to the farmers’ market, even though we had to park two blocks away. We got eggs and grapes (for Linda), and then we went to the hair salon. She carried Emily in the front carrier and put the oxygen tank on her floorboard between her knees. She was afraid the oxygen tank would run out and talked about going home, but she drove to South Shore anyway. And I rushed through Trader Joe’s and Safeway and got the groceries.
I fixed “breakfast” after I put away the groceries, and Linda just barely got finished eating when home health nurse, Beverly, came to visit.
