My vision has become significantly more blurry in the past several months. I got my last glasses in December 2019. So it was time to see the optometrist. Also, Dr. Prabahan’s office sent email telling me it was time to get my Diabetic Retinal Screening. I could do that at the San Leandro Kaiser facility, but I would have to go to Oakland or Union City for an optometrist and optician (Vision Essentials). I chose to go to Union City to see Dr. Wong, OD, and have the screening done there, too.
I had my eye doctor appointment and it turns out I have Dry Eye, which the doctor wants to get cleared up and then after that have another vision test.
I’m just still trying to wrap my head around this Dry Eye thing. I feel like I just can’t handle one more thing in my life right now!
Dr. Wong gave me a full sheet of printed instructions.
After that, I had the Diabetic Retinal Screening.
Warm compress and lid massage (he gave me a full sheet in step-by-step instructions), followed by cleaning the eyelids with a product called OCuSOFT Lid Scrub to clean, disinfect, and hydrate. Recommended blinking often.
Since coming home, I’ve been consciously blinking a lot and I think it feels better! However, I have a set of 6 compresses that can be put in the freezer for cold compress or in the microwave for warm compress (in 5-second increments until it feels warm enough but not too hot).
