I’m feeling stressed and anxious but, surprisingly, my neck pain is probably only at 4 today. At least that’s what I told the medical assistant who checked me in.
I sat down, took some time figuring out the most comfortable position for my foot rest, and took time cleaning my ears with the alcohol swab, as I tried to remember at least the parts of the ear that would have needles. I dressed very casually today, with flip-flops on my feet. I washed my hair in the shower this morning but didn’t take time to brush it out before we left the house.
I remembered to silence my phone before the session started. I tried very hard to practice mindful breathing and to ignore any “outside” thoughts. The music was familiar and ethereal, as usual. Jorge was gentle and efficient at placing the needles. I think I only dropped one needle today.
After acupuncture, as we planned, we stopped by Safeway on the way home to pick up berries for making a berry salad for the Church 1.0 picnic tomorrow.
