This is the first time getting a full diabetic retinal screening in the San Leandro Medical Facility. Room #302 (third floor, where my doctor’s office is located). However, when I got there, I was told that my appointment had been cancelled. They supposedly left me a phone message, but I checked my phone just before leaving home! Apparently, I only checked the text messages, and they had left a voicemail. **heavy sigh!**
They rescheduled me for:
Friday, April 2, 2021, 1:30 p.m.
This time the appointment was not cancelled. However, once the technician and I got into the exam room, she informed me this was not a dilation procedure. “They only do the dilations in Oakland or Union City,” she told me. Well, that’s just crazy! I deliberately made this appointment for San Leandro thinking this was the location they do dilations, since they did not do a dilation at Union City in 2019!
Whatever.

Received written report from Ophthalmology San Leandro stating, “We are pleased to inform you that review of the images taken recently for your diabetic screening did not demonstrate any diabetic eye disease…. We recommend repeating the diabetic retinopathy screening photos in two years.“
