Monday, January 13, 10:30 a.m. (phone appointment)
It’s 9:57 AM and I have my landline phone on my desk, ready to receive a phone call…
Just checked my appointments on kp.org and I see that my appointment time is 10:30 (not 10). Yay! I have time to go get a cup of coffee…
Phone call began at 10:34 a.m. and ended at 10:40 a.m. It was, indeed, an “exit appointment.” She did check the availability of the aging group for depression and found that the first available slot was not until September. I asked her to keep me in the loop and refer me to that group when it becomes available.
And that was it. ‘Bye, Felicia!
Afterthoughts: I’m thinking back to, first of all, the 9-week Depression Group I did last January through March. And then all the hoops I had to jump through just to get an appointment with an individual therapist. Lisa Galen is a LCSW and uses CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) exclusively. So when 5 individual sessions with her didn’t “cure” me and I wasn’t willing to take prescription meds, that’s the end of it. NOT what I expected from “individual therapy.”
