I really needed this online group today! When we got home from Alameda this morning, one of the grocery bags in the back had turned completely upside down onto the floor of the back, and it was impossible to open the door without getting one of the half gallons of Linda’s buttermilk squished inside the door mechanism. Buttermilk squirted all over the inside of the back of the van and the driveway and my new shoes! I finally got the carton out and took it inside the house to wash it off and see how much I could salvage (approximately 3/4 of the container). Then I had to figure out how to wash the buttermilk off the driveway. I found an old dusty watering can outside, took it inside and filled it a few times from the bathtub, and washed off as much as possible from the driveway. Of course, I was having a total meltdown the whole time!
I was so undone that when I logged on to the pain group at 4 o’clock I deliberately did not activate my video (first time I’ve ever not done that!). But I was somewhat soothed that Julie Whitehead was the facilitator today, so I did my usual (just listened to her and to the other attendees who commented). Her first slide for the presentation showed a picture of her dog, Pearl, wearing a mask. So cute!
Francis continued with the QiGong “8 Brocades” today, all done in the standing position. Of course, as luck would have it, my new printer (from Best Buy) was delivered by UPS right in the middle of it! At least I didn’t have to sign for it. By the time I got to the door (after the delivery person put the box on the front porch), he was already back at his truck; so I waved and called out, “Thank you!” I didn’t miss more than a minute of the QiGong. Only one attendee had her video turned on so I didn’t feel out of place not having my video on, either.
After the session, I unpacked the printer and got it set up on my desk. (Later I will have to decide what to do with the old printer. For now, it’s just sitting on the piano bench. I had intended to replace it after we moved here 8 years ago, but it still printed and scanned; it just had a broken hinge when you lifted the lid to put something on the glass to scan or copy.)
One of my “ear seeds” (the right ear) that Sophie had placed one week ago today came off. The left one as well as the body magnets on my shoulders and back are still intact.
I did not sleep well. I didn’t want to stay up, either, so I came to bed early but was not able to get to sleep until after 2 o’clock, and then I had disturbing dreams the rest of the night! The following morning I discovered that I had failed to take my evening meds, so I didn’t get the pregabalin and flexeril (both of which help me sleep).

Today I figured out how to make my computer communicate with the printer. I also remembered where I had put the extra ink cartridges that were delivered from Best Buy last week. Tomorrow I shall try to figure out how to copy and scan. Tonight I’m looking forward to a Zoom session with Alex. We didn’t have one last week since Linda had just come home from her right eye cataract surgery.
I also need to get serious about studying the California Driver Handbook 2020.
