I was so sleepy today! We all had such a hard time waking up this morning and didn’t get to the Alameda Farmers’ Market until about a quarter after nine. There were no more yellow crime scene tapes around the vendor kiosks. Ron (and everyone else) did not have masks. I didn’t even think about wearing a mask. Life really seemed normal! Ron had been on vacation to Hawaii so he was all relaxed and happy.
The day was cool and overcast, though, so Linda and Emily didn’t feel like getting out of the car. They settled in to listen to KDFC and waited while I shopped. Amazingly, I was able to find everything on my list. Except for the 5 oz. Dixie cups.
The rest of the day was normal. Brunch, Facebook, then online Pain Group at 4 p.m. Francis started a new QiGong routine with us (given here):
Wednesday, July 14 – Acupuncture with Sophie #9
Today was a lovely day, not too hot, not too cold. When the M.A. took me back to the treatment room, she also scheduled my next appointment with Sophie (in September) and my next group acupuncture (in August). She said Alameda, San Joaquin, and Santa Clara counties are having an uptick in COVID cases due to the Delta variant. She said that group acupuncture will now be allowed to be in a full room, that the door can be closed, and the acupuncturists will continue to wear the plastic face shields and masks but the patient will only be required to wear a mask. Sophie also said that Kaiser will not open up the in-person pain program until after the first of the year. Meaning she won’t be busy with that for another six months.
I did not sleep during the session, just tried to retain my mindful breathing. The eastern music was on, the heat lamp was on, and so I was very relaxed. I didn’t check the timing, but it was probably about the usual 30-35 minutes. When I got out to the van, Linda and Emily had the A/C on. Emily seemed very relaxed. Linda was very mellow. It was almost like all three of us had had acupuncture!
