I sure hope that the church will one day change its views about gay people. I don’t think they can effectively help bring gay people to Christ unless they take a fresh approach to the situation. I think there needs to be an open dialog with a lot of prayer and Bible study to make a difference. Eventually I think the church will slowly change from the inside out. I know that when church members find out they have close friends and family who are gay, then they are usually more sympathetic and understanding to the situation.

I’ve been trying to think of ways that might help the church change its views. I thought that there needs to be a wave of gay people coming out of the closet, so that the church can see there are many gay people amongst them that are wonderful Christians. I understand some people can’t be out; but if those that can, will come out, I think it will help those who do not have gay role models in the church. If out gay Christians are strong and have a bulletproof faith, then they will help make a difference in the progression of the Advent Movement. Only with the help of the Holy Spirit and faith in Christ will people’s hearts change towards gay folk. I hope things change soon.

In my coming out I’ve had wonderful support and acceptance from my family and friends. I’m very thankful for them and their support. Otherwise, the girls at church are all wanting to go shopping with me now. I found it amusing that many of my friends have always wanted a gay friend. So, yeah, my coming-out experience differs greatly from the conventional way of coming out. I came out over the internet on YouTube. It’s been a very positive experience.
