This year has been so crazy that I’ve lost track of my acupuncture appointments. So I’ll have to re-trace my steps:
- Acupuncture with Sophie #1 – January 16, 2020
- Group Acupuncture 2020 #1 – February 3, 2020
- Acupuncture with Sophie #2 (CANCELLED) – March 5, 2020
- Group Acupuncture 2020 #2 (CANCELLED) – March 19, 2020
- Acupressure Video Appointment, Sophie – May 18, 2020
- Acupressure Video Follow-up – May 27, 2020 (audio did not work, had to use phone)
- Acupuncture with Sophie #3 – July 27, 2020
- “Ear Seeds” & “Body Magnets” with Sophie – August 18, 2020
- Acupuncture with Sophie #4 – September 28, 2020 (got flu shot afterwards)
- Acupuncture with Sophie #5 – November 4, 2020
- Acupuncture with Sophie #6 (CANCELLED) – December 9, 2020
I asked the M.A. on duty about the group acupressure online (that was supposed to start on November 18). She made some phone calls while I waited, then scheduled me for an appointment on Monday, December 14, at 8:30 a.m. When I got home and got the email confirmation, it said “Video Appointment with Deborah Croan, LAC.” I tried to contact this unknown person by email but she wasn’t in my Kaiser Recipient list. There was a Connie Chuck, LAC (I have NO idea who she is), so I decided to send her an inquiry email. We’ll see if I get a response.
I immediately got a response that said, “Thank you for your message. I will be out of the office through 2/26/2021 and will follow up with you after I return.” (Heavy sigh!)

I kept the video appointment with Deborah Croan, LAC [California licensed acupuncturists (LAc) are trained in acupuncture and oriental medicine as well as western medicine.] Essentially, she just said she would let Sophie know that I’m interested in an acupressure group online. The other LAc (Connie Chuck) is out on maternity leave until February. I have no idea how many individual sessions (with Sophie or anyone else) that I am entitled to as a chronic pain patient, Six? Ten? Who knows?!?
I’m just afraid that life will never be the same again in Physical Medicine and Pain Clinic!

Usual online Pain Group at 4 p.m. today. Francis continued with QiGong and it was a good session. I’ve long since gotten used to being a “silent” participant!
